There is no registration fee for this event. However, all our runners will be expected to commit to our fundraising target of £400. This amount will cover our expenses for the run, and ensure the continuation of our work in Ethiopia.

At 26.2 miles, marathons are serious endurance feats that require dedication and training. As such this event is suitable for those with a good level of fitness who are prepared to undertake the intense training required by such a race.

All participants will receive a 16 week-training plan based on personal fitness level and experience, a technical running shirt, a nice big medal, and an unforgettable running experience.

Flat and fast! Rated the fastest Marathon in the UK, the Edinburgh Marathon is ideal for first-time runners or for those hoping to set a new personal record. The route circles the scenic Edinburgh Castle before heading east towards the finishing line in Musselburgh. Food and beverages will be provided at stations throughout the route.

We are asking our team members to commit to raising a minimum of £400. This more than covers the costs Link Ethiopia will have to pay the event organisers for each participant, and allows a nice big sum of money to be spent on the good causes our charity supports.
In our experience, this is a totally achievable amount to raise for such an event. We will provide each team member with information to set up an online fundraising account, a fundraising pack, and guidance and support from our fundraising team to help you achieve your goals.
