Project proposal
The Kebele 03 Kindergarten has 5 functional classrooms which are packed tightly with enthusiastic children during lesson times. But they have very little suitable furniture to allow writing and study to be done in any convenient and comfortable way. They do have some rather ancient desk units in two of the classrooms, but these came from a nearby secondary school when they were considered to be too old for normal use there. Hence they are not only in very poor condition, but they are also anything but suitable for the relatively tiny children who now use them. In the other rooms, children sit on branches of wood that are nailed to uprights, rather like crude wooden benches, or they sit on large stones that they have collected for the purpose. They are very uncomfortable, as you can imagine, and there are certainly no desks to write on.
Cove Infants challenged to furnish a classroom!
Cove Infants School have taken on the challenge of raising £250 towards furniture at Kebele 03 Kindergarten. We wish them luck!
