Fundraising in progress
John and Sue Stidworthy have been long-term supporters of Link Ethiopia and we would like to say a huge thank you for their generous offer to match their friends donations pound for pound, to raise funds for a priority school project which we will identify.
School chosen for project
A school for the project has been chosen. We will support Dosha Elementary School, which is in a town called Asella. The school is in a particularly poor neighbourhood and the school infrastructure and resources reflect that. Their biggest needs are a water supply and classroom desks.
Project costs
Detailed project costs have been calculated in Ethiopia. The proposed plan is for the water facility to have ten water taps, so up to ten pupils can drink from it at once. The main structure will be constructed of stone and cement. The project will cost 11,435 birr.
Fundraising completed
A generous donation of £1000 has arrived. We would like to say a big thank you to Sue and John Stidworthy!
Funds transferred
The first phase of funds have been transferred and construction can now begin!
Final project funding
The water project is almost finished! The final funding payment is currently being made. We’ll bring you photos of the completed project soon.
