The Hottest Place on Earth (Episode 1)
A really interesting documentary from Channel 4/National Geographic entitled ‘The Hottest Place on Earth’ looks at the far northern region of Afar, and the settlement of Dallol in the Danakil Depression, which holds the record for the highest annual temperature of anywhere in the world – a blistering 35°C! The film could form part of a Geography lesson looking at plate tectonics, volcanic activity, as well as being a really interesting look at where our table salt comes from!
